We started Growhub in 2024 right here in Guwahati, Assam, with a simple thought: the things we bring into our homes should feel alive, honest, and kind to the earth.

Northeast India is home to some of the world’s most incredible weaving traditions, passed down through generations. We work side-by-side with rural artisan families, taking fast-growing native plants like wild cane, bamboo, and water hyachinth and shaping them into furniture, lighting, and everyday decor built for modern spaces.

The People Behind Growhub

Growhub was founded by Sakil Ahmed and Nilotpala Sahariah, uniting a passion for bio-resource innovation, grassroots rural development, and contemporary design.

Driven by the belief that sustainable living begins with regional biodiversity, they set out to bridge the gap between Northeast India’s skilled artisan clusters and modern spaces across the country. By combining strategic market access with community-first training, they are building a transparent, regenerative supply chain that honors both nature and human craft.

Forest-Safe by Nature: Cutting down a tree takes decades of forest growth with it. Cane and bamboo are climbing palms and fast-growing grasses that regenerate naturally in just 5 to 7 years, harvested gently without disturbing a single forest tree.

Working Directly with Women Artisans: Over 70% of our artisan partners are rural women. We train together, refine designs together, and build reliable income streams so they can support their families with pride.
